KARACHI: Frere Hall’s Sadequain Gallery is the venue where artworks of Sara Rizvi were exposed. The young artist graduated from Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, majoring in Textile Designing.
Talking to NewsPakistan.tv she told about her unique technique: Screen-printing on fabric followed by pen drawing. “You know how pen blots on fabric! So you need to select the exact tip besides processing the cotton fabric in right chemicals”.
As for the muse she states: “In the midst of ever chaotic surrounding of highly passionate mornings and disheartened nights, never ending accusations and disappointed minds, I stand hereby, with my arms as spread open, my spirit yet as welcoming, so I do see in my city that you wish to overlook. This little is my attempt to show you through my eyes, to spread some smiles, for I do see, the enthusiasm yet so boosting, the fortitude yet so high”!
Communicating about color palette, Sara said that since her theme was ‘Roshan Hai Aaj Bhi Mera Shehr’, she had opted for the shades karachiites see in the evenings and nights: reds, yellows, oranges and ochres.
Commenting on her paintings celebrated artist and social worker Jimmy Engineer observed that Sara Rizvi was conscious of day-to-day happenings and had the talent for capturing local flavors.
Expecting to see a grand exposition soon. Jimmy Engineer prognosticated a bright future for the young artist.
