ISLAMABAD: Chairman Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) Syed Shabbar Zaidi has taken to the Twitter today to inform that the Dubai Land Department had agreed to instantly provide details of Pakistani owners of Dubai Properties.
“We are pleased to inform that a very productive meeting has been held in Dubai on October 9 and 10 on the matter of exchange of information. Dubai Land Department will instantly provide details of Pakistani owners of Dubai Properties. Iqama abuse is also being handled,” he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that in 2018 the Government of Pakistan had issued notices to three hundred Pakistani nationals who happen to own real estate in UAE. Now those individuals who own six or more properties would be sent notices in order to acquire information about their sources of income.
It had been a practice of the corrupt politicians, bureaucrats and others to smuggle the ill-gotten money out of Pakistan and buy properties in Dubai, UK, EU and USA.
