ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday proposed to constitute special Parliamentary delegations and send them to the friendly countries for categorically presenting the viewpoint of Pakistan against Indian aggression.
Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, the Opposition Leader said the government was using diplomatic fronts and taking the neighboring countries into confidence and this process should be speeded up.
“The issue has been taken with the President and Foreign Minister of Turkey but it would have been better if the friendly countries were urged to give statement in support of Pakistan,” he added.
He welcomed the decision announced by Minister of Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi to not attend the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers’ Session in UAE.
He said that Crown Prince UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan was one of the best friends of Pakistan and he might be convinced to not invite India to attend the OIC scheduled meeting.
The Opposition leader said that he would pay tribute to all those martyrs and Ghazis who made defence of the country impregnable.
He said that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was the founder of nuclear Programme of Pakistan and former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif asserted this capability by conducting six underground nuclear explosions in response to Indian five explosions in 1998.
He said that Nawaz Sharif rejected the American package of five billion dollars offered in 1998 and made Pakistan an atomic power.
