Short-Term Kidnapping: DSP Raja Umar Khattab Dismissed

KARACHI:  Following the short-term kidnapping for ransom of a 30-year-old cryptocurrency trader on 25th Dec from Manghopir area, CTD incharge Raja Umar Khattab and DSP of SPU Farukh Younus have been directed to report to the CPO.

IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon has confirmed that a CTD officer alongwith other six suspects had been nabbed here on Friday (3rd Jan) for committing short-term kidnapping for ransom.

The suspects (Haris, alias Ashar; Mohammed Rizwan Shah; Tariq Hasan Shah, alias Amir; Muzamil Raza; Umer Jilani; Umer Irshad and Noman Riffat) are habitual offenders who had been jailed in the past, transferred 340,000 US dollars in different accounts through Arsalan’s Binance Account and released him near Quaid’s Mazar.

The Top Cop while talking to Media informed that another cop, involved in this short-term kidnapping, was at large and attempts were being made to trace him. The identity of the held policeman has not been revealed. First Information Report u/s 365-A (kidnapping) and 34 (common intention) of the PPC registered.
