KARACHI: Students of IQRA University Airport Campus visited Alishba’s Art ń Cafe here on Friday (13th of January, 2024) with the faculty member Ms. Umme Sumaiyya Siddiqui.
KARACHI: IQRA University Airport Campus recently arranged a student’s visit to “Alishba’s Art n Cafe,” run by the inspiring Syeda Alishba Amin-ud-Din, a young girl with Down syndrome. _____________________
Students were amazed by her artistic talents, appreciating her as a symbol of empowerment. Alishba’s cafe exemplifies the spirit of reducing inequalities, showcasing the potential of individuals with diverse abilities.
Students of course “Introduction of Future Studies” were impressed with Alishba’s book, beautifully illustrated by her, focuses on Sustainable Development Goals through the unique lens of the young artist with Down syndrome.
Through her vibrant artwork and heartwarming storytelling, Alishba highlights the importance of fostering an inclusive society where every individual, regardless of their abilities, can actively contribute to build a sustainable and equitable world.
This book will play a pivotal role in promoting inclusivity, awareness, and understanding of the valuable contributions that people with diverse abilities bring to our global community.
At the last Dr. Iffet Sultana, co-founder Alishba’s Art n Café gave a brief presentation to the students.
She shared the journey of her daughter Alishba and highlighted the objectives of the Art café.

She stressed the importance of social inclusion and its importance; Social inclusion means in part that people with disabilities have “full and fair access to activities, social roles, and relationships directly alongside non-disabled citizens.”
