UN to celebrate Pakistan Day for the first time

NEW YORK: United Nations is planning to celebrate the Pakistan Day for the first time with a concert planned in the prestigious General Assembly hall on March 23, a UN official said Sunday.

“The concert, appropriately titled Sufi Night: Music of Peace, has been organised by the Pakistan Mission to the UN,” said the Official.

According to sources, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will perform at the concert and sing his popular songs which already have worldwide familiarity.

The concert is aimed at spreading the message of peace and harmony at the world stage.

“It is an effort to project Pakistan’s soft image and present the country’s rich culture,” said Ambassador to the UN Maleeha Lodhi.
