KARACHI: UNGA designated the observance of World Interfaith Harmony Week in 2010, emphasising that mutual understanding and inter-religious dialogue constitute important dimensions of a culture of peace.

World Interfaith Harmony Week

Annual event World Interfaith Harmony Week, that is observed from 1st till 7th of February, is meant to augment harmony between people of all faith.

UNGA encourages all States to spread the message of interfaith harmony and goodwill in the world’s churches, mosques, synagogues, temples, gurdwaras and other places of worship during World Interfaith Harmony Week.

World Interfaith Harmony Week

It was King Abdullah II of Jordan who proposed World Interfaith Harmony Week at the United Nations in 2010. UNSA adopted the resolution and called on governments, institutions and civil society to observe it with various programmes and initiatives that would promote the objectives.
