Unidentified gunmen shot down 3 cops and a 12-year-old boy near Darul-Uloom Korangi

KARACHI: Unidentified gunmen opened fire at a Police Mobile stationed near Dar-ul-Uloom Korangi here today, killing two cops and a child.

One policeman identified as Amjad and 15-year-old Abid also got wounded in the firing incident who were taken to the nearby JPGMC. Amjad later succumbed to his injuries.

According to details the other slain policemen, who  have been identified as Qamaruddin and Babar, too were not wearing their bullet-proof jackets at the time of incident.

Later their bullet-proof jackets were found in the mobile. In-charge CTD Raja Umar Khattab has insinuated that some militant group carried out the attack.

According to Khattab 40 to 45 bullets were shot from not less than three 9mm pistols by 6 gunmen riding three motorcycles

CM Sindh has asked for immediate arrest of culprits. IG Sindh has ordered the DIG East to furnish report of the shooting that could be a case of target killing.
