ISLAMABAD: Esmaeil Baqaei, porte parole of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, has taken to the X to proclaim that no meeting was planned to take place with US delegates during the FM’s Saturday (25th April, 2026) Pakistan visit.

Commenting of the arrival of the delegation from Tehran here on Saturday (25th April, 2026), Spox Esmaeil Baqaei held: “We arrive in Islamabad, Pakistan, for an official visit. FM Araghchi will be meeting with Pakistani high-level officials in concert with their ongoing mediation & good offices for ending American imposed war of aggression and the restitution of peace in our region.

“No meeting is planned to take place between Iran and the US. Iran’s observations would be conveyed to Pakistan.”

On the other hand US team, consisting of President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner, will land here on Saturday (25th April, 2026). Many believe their purpose of visit is to hold the 2nd round of talks with Tehran attempting to figure out a way to end the 57-day war.

War Loss, Iran demands compensation: TEHRAN: Amir Saeid Iravani, Ambassador of Tehran to UN, in a letter dated 13 April, 2026, addressed to Secretary-General António Guterres and Security Council President Jamal Fares Alrowaiei, has demanded that five countries of the region must pay US$ 270 billion as compensation for the destruction caused by strikes that were launched on Irani infrastructure, from the US bases in their territories.
According to Amir Saeid Iravani, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar & Jordan breached their international obligations by facilitating US and Israel launch attacks against Irani targets. Mehr News Agency took to the X to report: “Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Amir Saied Iravani, has said that physical remnants recovered from the weaponry used in the US -Israeli war of aggression against Iran confirm that such weapons formed part of the arsenals of certain Persian Gulf states.
“He said that those remnants were recovered across multiple affected Iranian cities, adding ‘the evidence presented clearly demonstrates that those States have not only aided and abetted the aggressors but have themselves engaged in the commission of acts of aggression, as defined under customary international law.’”
US can’t confront China & Russia? Draining its weapons stockpile, during the bombing of Iran (aka Operation Epic Fury), US military could face a near-term risk of non availability of missiles. America has burned through billions of dollars worth of weapons, including eleven hundred Long-Range Stealth Cruise Missiles (supposed to be used against China in case of a war), twelve hundred Patriot Interceptors (costing four million dollars each) and one thousand Tomahawk Cruise Missiles etc.
According to details as of 56th day of War with Iran (24 April, 2026), forty-five percent of Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM) has been used by USA; half of its Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) and Patriot Missiles have been fired. Surprisingly, weapons, that the Super Power had utilized in weeks against Iran, were manufactured in years.
Post shooting one-fourth of Tomahawk Cruise Missiles, its arsenal harbours 3000 of them; After launching 1100 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile Extended Range (JASSM-ER) Pentagon is left with 1500 of them. Interestingly US will need three to five years to refill its armoury.
It may be recalled, president Joe Biden’s administration had provided Ukraine and Israel billions of dollars worth of weapons. At that time a US Navy admiral pointed out that American weapons’ stockpile was depleting. Similarly, Tehran (that was firing hundreds of missiles during the first days of War with USA) reduced the number of missiles to dozens.
It is pertinent to mention here that despite US bombing since 28th Feb, Iran is still ready to combat. It had seized two cargo ships and damaged a third one trying to pass through Strait of Hormuz (marine passage for 20% of the world’s oil) on Wed (22nd April, 2026), hours after the US President announced an indefinite extension to the ceasefire.
Tehran, accusing them of sailing sans permits, seized Panama-flagged Francesca (operated by the world’s biggest container shipping group MSC), and Greek-operated Epaminondas.
