BEIJING: Chinese army Lt. Gen. He Lei, while speaking to journalists on the opening day of the 3-day (11th) Xiangshan Security Forum here on Thursday (Sept, 12), hoped that the Xiangshan Security Forum would remain a sea of peace!

According to details, China’s top-level security forum will address conflicts in the South China Sea, Taiwan Strait, Korean Peninsula, and ongoing wars in Gaza and Ukraine.

It is pertinent to mention here that China and USA had not only been sparring verbally over Beijing’s stance on S. China Sea, in recent months, Chinese vessels have also engaged in a series of high-profile confrontations with Philippine ships.

While China maintains that it would crush any foreign incursion into its sovereign territory including in the South China Sea, cynics go haywire observing that despite no legal basis Beijing claims almost in their entirety.
