PARIS: Hotel Bedford was the venue where Club Zonta Paris Port-Royal Concorde and the Zonta Club Paris Etoile recently organised the Zonta International Amelia Earhart Scholarship presentation ceremony to formally award the scholarship to Preethi Rajendram Soundararajan.Amelia Earhart is an icon for Zonta International which annually distributes 35 scholarships (named after her) worth US$ 10,000 each, to bright young women pursuing studies in the field of aerospace.

Governor Monika Geise from Germany was conspicuous among others who attended the grandoise ceremony that was followed by a concert of classical baroque music performed by a winner of the Zonta Ambre Music Scholarship.

Renowned American aviation pioneer and author, Amelia Earhart – who was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic – happens to be one of the first Zontians.
