JERUSALEM: Marco Robio, the US Secretary of State, has dismissed far-right parliamentarians’ symbolic step of granting approval to a bill authorising Israeli authorities to annex the occupied West Bank here on 23rd Oct, 2025.
Maintaining that Israeli move regarding West Bank would jeopardise Phase I of US Plan for ending Israel-Hamas skirmishers, Marco Rubio said: “That’s not something we can be supportive of right now.,,.”

“The West Bank is not going to be annexed by Israel. The policy of the Trump administration is that the West Bank will not be annexed by Israel…That will continue to be our policy. If people want to take symbolic votes, they can do that. But we certainly weren’t happy about it.”
Savants at the helm of affairs reckon the move apropos giving preliminary approval to such a bill was an attempt to embarrass Benjamin Netanyahu.
