ISLAMABAD: SCP has adjourned the hearing of a suo motu notice regarding the issue raised by letters penned by 6 IHC judges alleging interference of intelligence agencies in the affairs of the judiciary.
CJP said that the order of Wednesday (3rd April, 2024) was that such interference would not be tolerated. On the occasion AG, assuring full cooperation, said that the Fed. Govt. believed in the independence of judiciary.
Qazi Faez Isa stated that the case was being heard by a 7-member bench as other judges were out of city to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr. He said that a full-court too could hear the case provided all the judges were available on 29th or 30th of April.
