Appreciating PDM to maintain discipline during manifestation against dragging of Foreign Funding Case in front of ECP, Shaikh Rasheed held: “It is a very sensitive area, but they insisted on staging protest in the Red Zone.”

He asked the opposition to organise the Long March towards the capital with the same spirit: “We allowed them and gave them a schedule of their program. I am thankful to them that they met their commitment. With the same spirit, they are allowed to stage the long march in Islamabad.”

Talking about border security he told that 90% fencing was done along the 2600 porous border with Afghanistan: “Similarly, the fencing along the Iran border is also under progress. Though it’s expected to be completed within the next few months, to be on safe side, I would give a year to complete fencing along both borders.”

It is pertinent to mention here that last year  the ECC had approved Rs. 3b in additional funds for fencing the border with Iran.
