Commission submitted cases of 379 missing persons in 2024

ISLAMABAD: Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances (COIOED), that was set up in 2011, has been submitted 379 cases of missing persons during 2024.

According to the Commission the total number of cases received till Dec 2024 was 10,467, out of which 8,216 cases were disposed of.

Commission in its report claimed that:

a) 2,251 cases were yet to be solved,

b) 4,613 missing persons returned home;

c) 1,011 were harboured in internment centres;

d) 687 were incarcerated; while;

e) 288 missing persons expired.
