ISLAMABAD: PM Shehbaz Sharif, chairing a huddle here on Monday (6th Jan 2025), has directed to confiscate the properties and assets of human traffickers.
Asserting to nab human smuggling groups, prime minister directed to appoint the most competent lawyers for prosecution facilitating strict legal actions against the culprits in order to make them an example. PM also asked the Foreign Office to ensure that human traffickers, based abroad, be extradited to Pakistan. He stressed on promoting technical edification producing professions for global job market.
PM instructed the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to run an awareness campaign, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, to educate citoyens apropos legal means of going to other countries and hazards of using illegal channels. Noticing that government officials were also involved in human trafficking, he appreciated the measures taken against them including sacking of 30 FIA personnel.
