Corporal Punishment: Teacher of religious school beats an eight-year-old pupil to death!

KARACHI: A religious seminary mullah called Qari Najmuddin has beaten an eight-year-old pupil to death in Bin Qasim area here today.

According to details the victim had repeatedly been beaten by the madrassah (seminary) mullah Najmuddin in the past. Hence he ran away from the seminary.

But his poor parents had no other choice but to bring him back to the madrassah that not only provided free religious  edification but also complimentary shelter, food as well as clothing.

Mullah who believed that by running away from seminary the child had insulted him beat him to death using stick and other blunt objects.

The brainwashing of parents is so deeply rooted that despite death of their child the parents not only refused to allow postmortem but also had shown reluctance in getting case registered against killer mullah.

Though Police itself registered a case against the killer Mullah, parents of the child pardoned him.

It is pertinent to mention here that under a law passed by Sindh Assembly in the month of February, 2017  corporal punishment is prohibited.
