ISLAMABAD: Metallurgical Corporation of China (MCC) has donated medical supplies worth Rs. 40 million to Balochistan government that is presently attempting to contain the mysterious respiratory ailment caused by Coronavirus in the Province.

Special plane leaves for China to get coronavirus relief supplies

ISLAMABAD: Since emergence of Coronavirus in Pakistan and dozens of positive cases across the country, many countries have announced medical aid including testing kits, N95 respirator masks and other supplies.
Few days ago, the e-commerce giant Alibaba.Com sent medical supplies to Pakistan to help the country contain COVID-19. Chinese Embassy had announced that half a million face masks and 50,000 Coronavirus test kits were donated by Chinese Government.
“Embassy of China in Pakistan has taken to the Twitter to inform: “A plane bound for Pakistan carrying N95 and surgical masks sponsored by China’s @JackMa Foundation and the Alibaba Foundation has taken off. China is standing together with Pak through thick and thin,” read a Twitter post by the embassy.
Today, another special flight of Pakistan’s national flag carrier, PIA has left for China to get another consignment of relief supplies to fight the novel coronavirus.
“A special plane of Pakistan International Airline, carrying a 13-member team, is en route to Beijing to retrieve the supplies,” according to Islamabad airport officials. An official added that the team is not allowed to leave the plane.
“They will receive the relief goods from Chinese officials inside the plane,” the official said.
2nd consignment of medical supplies arrives from China
Embassy of China had confirmed on March 26, 2020 that medical supplies worth Rs. 67 million arrived in Karachi to help the Pakistan government contain corona virus menace.
According to details provided by the Chinese diplomatic post here the consignment includes masks, test kits, ventilators and personal protection equipment.
