Cricket, 1st T20I: Green Shirts beat Zimbabwe

BULAWAYO: Green Shirts, that scored 167 runs against Zimbabwe in the first T20I here on Sunday (1st December, 2024) for the loss of 4 wickets in stipulated twenty overs, limited its opponents to 108 runs by sending the équipe back to pavilion in 15.3 overs.

Batters failed to face the Pakistani bowlers’ onslaught as Men in Green, Abrar Ahmed and Sufiyan Muqeem dismissed six players whereas, Haris Rauf hunted two scalps. Jahandad Khan chipped in by sending one player of Zimbabwe back to pavilion. Usman Khan’s bat yielded 39-run innings, whereas, Salman Agha chipped thirteen runs in.

Green Shirts: Salman Ali Agha (skipper), Saim Ayub, Omair bin Yousuf, Usman Khan, Tayyab Tahir, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Jahandad Khan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Haris Rauf, Abrar Ahmed, and Sufiyan Moqim.

Zimbabwe: Sikandar Raza (skipper), Brain Bennett, Ryan Burl, Trevor Gwandu, Clive Madande, Tawandanashe Marumani, Tashinga Musekiwa, Richard Ngarava, Dion Myers, Wellington Masakadza.

PS: The second T 20I between the Green Shirts and Zimbabwe is scheduled to be played on Tuesday (3rd December, 2024) while the 3rd match will be played on Thursday *
