KINGSTOWN (ARNOS VALE GROUND): Experienced Australian cricket team (127 all out in 19.2 overs) was beaten by the novice Afghanistan (148-6) in the ICC T20I World Cup’s Super-8 match played here on Saturday (22nd June, 2024).

While Gurbaz and Zadran scored 50 each for Afghanistan, their bowlers Naib contributed by dismissing 4-20 and Naveenul Haq 3-20.
Australia attempted to chase the target of 149 runs to win, but the Afghans sent them back to the pavilion at 127 runs all out in 19.2 overs.

After Sunday win Afghanistan can qualify for the semi-finals, provided:
1) India beats Australia;
2) Australia beats Bangladesh;
3) Run-Rate works in their favor.
