Fawad for enhancing cooperation with Afghanistan in media

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, while meeting Charge d’affaires of Afghanistan Embassy Zardasht Shams on Thursday underlined the need to enhance cooperation in the field of media, information and culture as these could be instrumental in promoting people-to-people contacts and enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.
The information minister said that Pakistan attached great importance to its ties with Afghanistan and would further like to strengthen collaboration in areas mutually beneficial to the people of both the countries. The cultural exchanges were sine qua non to understand each other’s values and culture, he added.
The Afghan charge d’affaires informed the minister that the statement of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi of visiting Afghanistan first, was taken very positively in Kabul and it was hoped that it would augur well for bilateral ties between the two countries.
The minister said that peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan was in the best interest of Pakistan and would be helpful in promoting agenda of economic development and regional connectivity.
