Fog disrupts smooth train operation

ISLAMABAD: The Administration of Pakistan Railways on Friday said that smooth trains’ operation was disrupted due to fog and rain across the country that affected timing of different passenger trains.

Karakoram Express (42-Down) will leave Lahore Railway Station 11:00 pm instead of 4:00 pm towards Karachi, whereas Karachi Express (16-Down) will also leave late from Lahore at 1:00 am against the scheduled timing of 5:00 pm, the spokesman of Pakistan Railways said.

Meanwhile, Millat Express (18-Down), Business Express (304-Down) and Shah Hussain Express (44-Down) were also reported to be late from Lahore Railway Station toward Karachi, he added.

The spokesman said that all the other trains will leave for their destinations across the country as per given schedule. The passengers can contact to Pakistan Railways inquiry (042-117) for further information.

It is pertinent to mention here that due to fog and rain, the drivers of the trains have followed the principles of safety of passengers and drive slowly that is why the trains reached late.
