ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Secretary for Planning, Development and Reform Kanwal Shauzab on Thursday told the National Assembly that the government was focusing to utilize solar and renewable energy resources.
During question hour in the House, Kanwal Shauzab said that the present government has started eleven projects related to communication, water and energy during last nine months.
She said the government was developing a policy for equitable development of less developed districts to bring them at par with other developed districts of the country.
Kanwal Shauzab said that one Special Economic Zone was being established at Rashakai under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project which was identified by the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
She said that development funds under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) were distributed among the provinces under any formula as in case of National Finance Commission (NFA) award.
The Parliamentary Secretary said that a project located in one province and region generates benefits for the other provinces or for the entire country such as projects of energy, railway, ports, airports, motorway, water reservoirs, science and information technology, governance and agricultural research.
She said that for ensuring balanced regional development, federal government extends its support in the areas of public welfare as per guidelines and objectives of the National Economic Council.
