SWEDEN:  The increasing insecurity and instability due to conflicts globally led to a rise in military spending worldwide for the first time since 2011.

The overall combine global military spending increased by 1% in 2015, according to Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). This rise is mostly enhanced due to tensions emerging in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and East Asia.

Iraq is on top of the list with an increase in its defense spending by 536% during 2015-2016 which is far more than Gambia being second on top with 380% for the same period.

China increased its spending by 132%, Saudi and Russia rose by 7.5%.  US spending is still 36% of entire global defense spending.
