TEHRAN: President-elect of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, who won the runoff polls held on 6th day of July, beating ultraconservative Saeed Jalili, said he looked forward to ameliorate terms with European nations.
The 69-year-old heart surgeon Masoud Pezeshkian, who was health minister of Iran 20 years ago, is known as a reformist.
He said that he wanted to revive the 2015 nuclear deal with world powers. Following the unilateral withdrawal of USA, European countries committed to salvage it.

Taking to the Twitter (X), EU Spokesperson Nabiha Massrali stated: “We take note of the results of the presidential elections in Iran and congratulate President elect Massoud Pezeshkian. We are ready to engage with the new government in line with EU policy of critical engagement.”
