Local POL production dips 6% in 9 months of 2018-19

ISLAMABAD: The overall production of petroleum commodities has witnessed a decrease of 6 percent during first nine months (July-March) of the current fiscal year as compared to corresponding period of 2017-18.

According to the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the POL products that showed negative growth include Jet Fuel Oil, Kerosene Oil, High Speed Diesel, Furnace Oil, Jute Batching Oil and Solvant Naptha, posting decrease of 4.87 percent, 5.25 percent, 7.58 percent, 11.10 percent, 4.50 percent and 30.23 percent respectively.

However, the production of Motor Spirit oil has increased by 7.67 per cent, Diesel oil 32.67 per cent, Lubricating oil 14.19 per cent and Liquefied Petroleum Gas 27.69 per cent during the period under review.

On year-on-year basis, the petroleum production decreased by 9.65 per cent during March 2019 as compared to the output of March 2018.
