ISLAMABAD: Lt. Gen. Muhammad Asim Malik, who is presently serving as an Adjutant General at the GHQ here, will take take charge of the post of DG ISI from 30th Sept, 2024.
Recipient of a Sword of Honor, Asim Malik had earlier commanded the Infantry Division in Balochistan and the Infantry Brigade in Waziristan.
Graduate of Fort Leavenworth and Royal College of Defence Studies, he had discharged his duties as Chief Instructor at NDU Islamabad and as an instructor at Command & Staff College Quetta.
Lt. Gen. Muhammad Asim Malik will replace Lt. Gen. Nadeem Anjum, who was appointed DG ISI back in 2021 by then-PM Imran Khan.
