MUMBAI: Singer Mohammed Rafi’s son Shahid Rafi has joined Congress in presence of Rahul Gandhi in Mumbai.
Shahid Rafi had last year contested from AIMIM seat in Mumbai. He had contested from Mumbadevi which has a sizeable number of Muslims for the state legislature polls.
“I want to serve people. My father used to help people. I thought by becoming an MLA, I could help people. Many parties have come and gone, but nothing has changed. I request people to give me a chance,” said Shahid Rafi.
Shahid Rafi owns garment business.
