No-Confidence Resolution submitted against Chm. Senate by Opp.

ISLAMABAD: In order to show their muscles and augment pressure on PTI-led coalition government, the opposition parties have today submitted a resolution against Chairman Senate and a requisition to convene the session.

The move was made following a rendezvous of opposition leaders that took place in the chamber of Senator Raja Zafarul Haq (Leader of the Opposion in Senate who chaired the meeting).

Members of opposition parties have duly signed the demand apropos  removal of the chairman of senate under rule twelve of the Rules of Procedure in Conduct of Business in the Senate.

It was noted that the leaders of JI did not appear at the rendezvous. Conspicuous among those who attended the meeting there were Senators Sherry Rehman, Sassui Palijo, Ashok Kumar, Pervez Rashid, Musadiq Malik, Mushahidullah Khan and Usman Kakar.

It is pertinent to mention here that opposition leaders had decided to remove the chairman senate at a multi-party conference on 26th of June.  On Thursday 11th of July they will nominate their candidate to occupy the post if the resolution is passed.
