ISLAMABAD: PM’s Office, pointing towards re-energizing the Operation Azm-e-Istehkam has stated on Saturday (22nd June, 2024) that it would integrate and synergize multiple lines of efforts to combat the menaces of extremism and terrorism in a comprehensive and decisive manner.

Central Apex Committee on the National Action Plan (NAP), chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has re-launched the Operation Azm-i-Istehkam, with the consensus of all stakeholders, including the provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

It is pertinent to mention here that following the APS (Peshawar) attack the 20-point NAP for countering terrorism and extremism had been chalked out by the National Counter Terrorism Authority in consultation with stakeholders and approved on 24th of December, 2014, by the Parliament.

Relaunched Operation Azm-e-Istehkam campaign will not only handle the state of affairs of internal security but will attempt to contain terrorists based in Afghanistan.
