ISLAMABAD: Members of the business community have expressed their confidence in the PTI-led federal government’s policies.
During a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday, they were informed that trade and investment are important aspects of the government’s foreign policy.
The meeting was also attended by Finance Minister Asad Umar, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Khusro Bakhtiar, Federal Power Minister Omar Ayub Khan and Adviser for Commerce, Textile, Industry and Production and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood.
Dr Ishrat Hussain and Board of Investment Chairperson Haroon Sharif were also present.
The president of the Overseas Investment Chamber, head of the Pakistan Business Council and chairperson of the Pakistan Stock Exchange also attended the meeting, as did Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Khawaja Masood Akhtar and a representative from the Pakistan Bank Association, among others.
The premier said the government wants to improve the economy. The biggest challenge during our first six months in office was to strengthen the economy, he said.
The government is working to facilitate the business community and strengthen the economy, he told the participants of the meeting.
