Pakistan Housing Scheme getting tremendous response from people:minister

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Mehmood-ur-Raheed has said that Naya Pakistan Housing scheme is getting tremendous response from people which would help provide cheap houses to the poor.

Giving details in this regard, he said that more than eight thousand applications had been submitted by different applicants in Renala Khurd, Lodhran and Chishtian for getting houses under the scheme. The forms of this scheme could be deposited in specified branches of the Bank of Punjab, he added.

The Naya Pakistan Housing scheme was an important step towards achieving the goal of a welfare state and the promise of providing five million houses to the people would be fulfilled at every cost in accordance with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, he said.

In the next phase, the scope of this programme would be expanded to rural areas and a strategy had been devised in this regard, the minister concluded.
