MUSCAT: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Special Adviser on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz has said that Pakistan is keen to intensify exchanges and cooperation with Oman to fully benefit from its geographical and maritime proximity.
He said this during a meeting with his Omani counterpart Yusuf Bin Alawai Bin Abdullah in Muscat on Monday.
The two also discussed entire spectrum of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Adviser also met with Adviser on External Liaison, Dr. Omar bin Abdul Muinim al Zawawi and exchanged views on bilateral cooperation and regional situation.
Aziz is on a two-day visit to Oman. Earlier upon his arrival at Muscat international airport, he was warmly welcomed by Bin Abdullah and senior leadership of Oman.
During his visit, Sartaj Aziz delivered a lecture on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s vision for “Peaceful Neighborhood” at the Diplomatic Institute and separately discussed defence and security relations with the Minister Responsible for Defence.
The Adviser also delivered a keynote speech at the ‘Trade and Investment Promotion Event’ organized by the Embassy of Pakistan that was attended by prominent businessmen and other stakeholders.
Aziz also laid the foundation stone of Pakistan Embassy and Residence Complex.
