Protests, violence unacceptable: Fawad

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said today that protests and violence instead of a resorting to the legal course were unacceptable.
He said review petition was a legal right exercised by an individual and accepted by the court. He said no one could take the law into hands and the government would ensure writ of the state as expressed by the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Relevant: Minister of State for Interior, Shahryar Khan Afridi Thursday said that the present government did not have any lenient policy for those elements creating violence or disrupting peaceful environment of the state.
Talking to a private news channel, he said those challenging “writ of the government”, or working against the national institutions would have to face the consequences.
“All political parties and stakeholders are on the same page on national issues and the present government will not compromise on the matter of blasphemy,” he added.
Without having faith in Allah and Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), or “Hatem-e-Nabuwat”, a Muslim could not complete his/her faith, he added.
The judiciary, constitutional institutions, and the country were bound to follow the Quran and Sunnah, he stated.
Commenting on current situation emerged after the protest demonstration, or sit-in, he said that writ of the government would be ensured at all cost adding all the stakeholders were united on the matter of national issues.
To a question, Shahar Yar Afridi said that the entire nation would hear good news tonight regarding peaceful negotiations with protestors of the sit-in.
To another question, he said that it was the responsibility of the government and law enforcement agencies to ensure the protection of religious places of any faith and the citizens.
