Rahul Gandhi says India does not want Modi to run the country

NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi who won both UP and Kerala seats, while commenting on Narendra Modi’s fading popularity on Wednesday (5th June, 2024), noted that India did not want him to run the country.

Talking to journalists at a Presser held here, Rahul Gandhi said that Narendra Modi had ‘captured’ all institutions and thus Indian National Congress had to fight not only against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but also against the intelligence agencies and judiciary.

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI) Modi’s BJP bagged 240 of the 543 seats while the Indian National Congress has got 99 seats. Though Modi failed to achieve landslide victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he is all set to become PM for the third time.

But the 73-year-old PM Modi will have to forge an alliance with others who are not expected to tow his Hindutva agenda. Moreover, since Rahul Gandhi’s Indian National Congress performed well he can emerge as a tough opposition in the Lok Sabha.
