Rasheed announces to launch 20 more trains within six months

LAHORE: Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed has announced to add twenty more trains in the Pakistan Railways fleet within six months.

Addressing a press conference at the Railways Headquarters here today, the minister said loss of the PR has shrunk; more steps were underway to put it on the right track.

Shedding light on efforts being taken to upgrade Pakistan Railways, he said a link is being established with Karachi railway station from Durgai, while Durgai to Nowshera Kohat railway station link will also be established.

Rasheed said five railway engines are undergoing repair in China and vowed to add twenty more trains in the PR fleet.  “Overseas Pakistanis will be welcomed if they want to invest in the PR”, he continued.

In order to provide relief to the under privileged section of the society, the minister said a new train is being introduced for them, which will make stops at smaller stations too.

“14 freight trains will be introduced soon”, Rasheed contented.
