Screen violence triggers aggressive behavior among kids!

AIMAN INAM

WASHINGTON D.C: The rise in the cases of terrorism and other disputes distress us a lot.

Children observe dead bodies, bloodied faces, tears and terror on a daily basis via news coverage of such occurrences on media.

However, screen violence (such as aggression in video games, television shows and movies) is linked with violent behavior, aggressive thoughts and annoyed feelings among gullible kids.

Harboring on the subject, Dr. Dimitri Christakis held that screen violence is considered disturbing for kids, which could impact non-constructively.

So as to prove this, Christakis and colleagues have run through the records of over a dozen researches and meta-analyses. That was apropos the effects of virtual violence (experienced or seen virtually on screen) and aggression on children’s attitudes and behaviors.

Following their research, experts reiterated that parents, the media firms and policy makers would better exclude access to violent media because of children.

Also, parents should narrate the stories of people helping each other instead of hurting each other as such events could potentially make them scared.

On the contrary, a 2013 study discovered that pro-social and educational screen time could considerably augment social and emotional capabilities among little ones.
