RAWALPINDI: DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry while talking to journalists at a Presser held here Friday (27th Dec, 2024) told that Security forces carried out 59,775 operations in 2024 during which 925 terrorists were neutralised.
In the 5th Press Conference held by ISPR in 2024 to brief about law and order situation in Balochistan and KP, the Media was informed that numerous militants were also nabbed during these operations. Speaking about sanctuaries provided by Afghanistan’s interim government to militants Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that all evidence related to terrorism could be traced back to the save havens enjoyed by terrorists there.
Pointing out that Pakistan, on a state level, repeatedly demanded Kabul to take action against TTP militants operating from its soil, ISPR spokesman maintained that Islamabad had played a vital role in the stability of Afghanistan. Lt. General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry also informed that from Sept 2023 till Dec 2024 eight hundred and fifteen thousand Afghans (who were living in Pakistan illegally) have been repatriated to their homeland.
