Thirty out of 120 flights resumed: PIA predicament

ISLAMABAD: The striking employees of PIA have resumed 30 flights out of 120 as offices in Karachi and Islamabad reopened.

In an obvious face-saving effort only Umra flights were made operational.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif commenting on the matter has said no matter what privatization of PIA would take place.

Maintaining that Government would not bow under any pressure or blackmailing the PM reiterated that there would be no talks with PIA’s striking employees until operations resumed.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar while answering to a question about PIA’s Rs. 350 billion loss has said that increasing the fleet to 75 would stop this loss.
