ITALY: More than 2,900 athletes from 92 national Olympic committees are competing at the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics (6th to 20th Feb, 2026).
With a troupe consisting 230 athletes USA has the largest presence followed by Canada (210) and Italy (196) in the XXV Milano Cortina Winter Olympic Games 2026. While, the event is taking place at sites across Lombardy and Northeast Italy, competition in selected events commenced on 4th February.
UN Secretary General António Guterres took to the X on 6th Feb, to post: “The Olympics & Paralympics are a beacon of hope, a celebration of human potential, teamwork, fair play & mutual respect. The Games remind us what a united world can be & what humanity can achieve when we strive for our very best. I call on all parties to conflict to honour the Olympic Truce. The only struggle between nations should be on the sports field, not the battlefield.”
Aficionados who had witnessed successful holding of Paris 2024 Olympic Games (that concluded on 11th August, 2024 after two weeks of competitions) are all set to enjoy the XXV Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.
