Cricket, 1st Test: Pakistan beaten by S. Africa

SUPERSPORT PARK CRICKET STADIUM (Centurion): Green Shirts have been beaten by South Africa here on Sunday (29th Dec 2024).

Pakistani team scored 211 runs in the first inning while 237 runs in the second inning. On Sunday Aiden Markram resumed on 22 not out, alongside skipper Temba Bavuma. South Africa mustered 301 runs up in the first innings and 150 runs in the second innings. Host leads the two-match series one-nil. By beating Green Shirts, South Africa have qualified for the World Test Championship.

3nd Day:  In the day three game of the 2nd inning of the first Test against Green Shirts, the Proteas made 27 for three wickets chasing a target of 148 runs set by Pakistan when due to bad light the game had to be stopped on Saturday (28th Dec 2024).

Mohammad Abbas hunted two scalps while Khurram Shahzad sent the third back to the pavilion. Tony de Zorzi made 2 runs, Ryan Rickleton failed to make any run and Tristan Stubbs’s bat yielded only one run before they all were trapped LBW.

 2nd Day: In the second innings Pakistan, scored 88 for 3. Bosch, smashed 15 boundaries in his 93-ball innings and chipped 41 in with Kagiso Rabada (13) and 47 with Dane Paterson (12).
