ISLAMABAD: Military will ensure security of the matches of 9th edition of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy (quadrennial ODI cricket tournament) scheduled to be held in Pakistan (& UAE) from 19th Feb to 9th March, 2025.
Federal Govt has decided to deploy the military under Article 245 of the Constitution. The security measures for the players and the venues are being put in place in coordination with PCB. It is pertinent to mention here that Green Shirts, the defending champions (that had won the 8th edition of ICC Men’s Championships Trophy in 2017) will clash with Kiwis on Wednesday (19th Feb).
Final tickets – to be played on Sunday (9 March, 2025) – will be on sale after the conclusion of the first semi-final that will be played in Dubai.

19 February: Pakistan v New Zealand, Karachi
20 February: Bangladesh v India, Dubai
21 February: Afghanistan v South Africa, Karachi
22 February: Australia v England, Lahore
23 February: Pakistan v India, Dubai
24 February: Bangladesh v New Zealand, Rawalpindi
25 February: Australia v South Africa, Rawalpindi
26 February: Afghanistan v England, Lahore

28 February: Afghanistan v Australia, Lahore

9 March: Final will be played in Lahore unless India qualifies;
In that case the ICC Champions Trophy Final will be played in Dubai
10 March: Reserve day
Pakistan Squad: ICC Men’s Champions Trophy Squad was announced by PCB on 31st Jan. According to PCB: “The squad, to be captained by Mohammad Rizwan with Salman Ali Agha as vice-captain, includes three members from the 2017 title-winning side – Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf and Fakhar Zaman. Babar and Fakhar, along with Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Saud Shakeel had also featured in the last 50-over ICC event – the ICC Men’s 50-over Cricket World Cup 2023.”
