ADIALA JAIL (Rawalpindi): PTI Supremo Imran Khan (IK), in his open letter to the COAS, on Monday (3rd Jan, 2025), has criticised the establishment’s approach towards National Security and called for a review.
According to sources, in his correspondence, penned at Adiala Jail here, IK has expressed his concerns over augmenting distance between the military and citoyens. He held that the menace of terrorism’s racines could only be eradicated if the citoyens of the republic were behind the armed forces.
Maintaining that the establishment was backing the NRO beneficiaries, IK pointed towards:
i) Public Discontentment With Military;
ii) Fight Against Terrorism;
iii) Pakistan’s Economic Instability;
iv) Rigging In Recent Polls;
v) State Atrocities Against PTI, Sealing of hospital records & later altered to manipulate facts:
vi) Intelligence Agencies’ Role; &
vii) PECA Amendment.
It may be recalled that former PM Imran Khan had penned a 349-page letter to the CJP too last week addressing matters related to:
i) Fraud in the last polls;
ii) Human Rights Violations (including nabbing of PTI workers).
Military has not made an official statement so far.
