ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Bar Council, Islamabad High Court Bar Association, and Islamabad District Bar Association, during a huddle on Sunday (2nd Feb), agreed to protest on Monday seeking withdrawal of notification apropos the posting of 3 judges in the IHC.
Lawyers, rejecting the notification said that fresh posting of judges was an attack on the independence of judiciary. They unanimously announced that they would boycott the proceedings of the High as well as District Courts.
It may be recalled that ignoring the letter of 5 IHC judges President Zardari had transferred three judges to IHC: Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro from SHC, Justice Muhammad Asif from BHC and Justice Sarfraz Dogar from LHC.
Justices Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, Babar Sattar, Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan and Saman Rafat Imtiaz penned a correspondence addressing the CJP Yahya Afridi, IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, LHC Chief Justice Aalia Neelum, and SHC Chief Justice Mohammad Shafi Siddiqui.
