Sharif’s fooled nation and institutions by lying about offshore assets: Qadri

LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Tahir ul Qadri has said that the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family lied in the Supreme Court about their offshore assets.

Qadri, while addressing a public gathering at Nasir Bagh here today, said that the Sharif’s submitted forged documents for which the punishment is seven years imprisonment.

“He [Nawaz] should be thankful that the courts allowed him to walk free,” he added.

Qadri further went on to add that five judges of the apex court declared Nawaz a liar and disqualified him but he is “unabashedly trying to assemble a protest on GT Road”.

The PAT chief also termed the Supreme Court’s Panama Papers verdict “historic”.

“Nawaz’s disqualification in the Panama Papers case is the verdict of God since he was ousted under Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution,” he added.
