OTTAWA: Following the 25% tariff imposed by Trump on *all Canadian imports into USA set to take effect on Tuesday (4th Jan 2025), and his push for Canada to become 51st state of America, the 40 million citoyens of this country are angry.

PM Justin Trudeau while addressing the nation had stated: “Many among us will be affected by this, and we will have some hard times. I ask you to be there for each other. Now is the time to choose Canada...We prefer to solve our disputes with diplomacy. But we are ready to fight when necessary...

“This is a choice that, yes, will harm Canadians. But beyond that, it will have real consequences for you, the American people…As I have consistently said, tariffs against Canada will put your jobs at risk, potentially shutting down American auto assembly plants and other manufacturing facilities.

“They will raise costs for you, including food at the grocery stores and gas at the pump. They will impede your access to an affordable supply of vital goods crucial for U.S. security, such as nickel, potash, uranium, steel and aluminium,” PM Justin Trudeau stated on Saturday (1st of February, 2025).

Donald Trump took to the Social Media platform Truth Social on Sunday (2nd February, 2025) to maintain that his country that paid hundreds of billions of dollars to subsidize Canada did not need Canadian products: “Without this massive subsidy, Canada ceases to exist as a viable country.”

Mexico: On Monday (3rd February, 2025) President Donald Trump said that he was pausing the 25% tariffs on goods imported from Mexico for one month following Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum’s agreement to send ten thousands soldiers to the order to prevent drug trafficking immediately. .
