PESHAWAR: Speaker Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani administered oath to the 115 newly elected members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly here on Wednesday (28th Feb, 2024).
According to the scheduled flow of event the session was supposed to commence at 11am, but due to mismanagement (e.g.: issuance of an enormous number of invitations etc) and ruckus caused by the PTI workers the session was delayed. The unruly mob, besides the full-throat slogan mongering, threw a lota and a shoe towards PML-N’s Sobia Shahid.
After Punjab and Sindh, KP Assembly was the third provincial assembly have its members take oath following 8th Feb, polls. Election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of KP Assembly will be held on Thursday (29th Feb, 2024). Interestingly, KP had been functioning sans an assembly since January, 2023 when the previous provincial legislature was dissolved.
