
PARIS: Jury, consisting of representative organizations of African countries, annually awards Africans and Europeans who have excelled in their fields.
Dr. Hamza Taj, CEO of the first French-language digital platform FP92TV in France and Afrik1 TV for the African continent, was bestowed upon the Mariam Makeba Award by the International African Union of Journalists at a prestigious ceremony held here by the Saudi Ambassador to France, Fahad Al-Rawali, while the Central African Minister of Culture, Marie Potou Ramadan, decorated him with the Makeba Medal.
According to the details, a jury consisting of representative organizations of African countries in France announces the Mariam Makeba Award every year for African and European citizens who have shown outstanding performance in their fields through the platform of the International African Union of Journalists.
This year, French-born Pakistani Dr. Hamza Taj Sukhera has been selected for this award. Dr. Hamza Taj Sukhera is the founder of the first Urdu-French digital channel FP92TV and has also launched the French news channel Afrik1 for African countries.
Dr. Hamza Taj was awarded the Mariam Makeba Award by Saudi Ambassador H.E Fahad Al-Rawali at a prestigious ceremony for providing a platform for the African community to convey its voice to the world.
African businessmen, officials and representatives of political and social organizations attended the event.
The positive role of Pakistanis in France was appreciated and Dr. Hamza Taj Sukhera was paid a great tribute for his achievements in the industrial and commercial fields as well as his prominent role in the media field.
On this occasion, French businessmen, politicians and social figures who have served African countries in various fields expressed their views.
This beautiful multicultural event witnessed wonderful African music and dance. At the end of the event, Dr. Hamza Taj said: "It is a great honor for me that last year this award was given to the Prime Minister of Senegal and this time for the first time a non-African has been selected for the award.
"This is an honor for me, France and Pakistan alike, for which I am grateful to the people of all African countries, organisers and journalistic organizations. I promise that I will be a more effective voice for Africa than ever before."
