Personnel throwing man from container should be held accountable: PTI

PESHAWAR: PTI’s Omar Ayub Khan and Waqas Akram Sheikh, talked to journalists at a Presser held here on Friday (29th Nov, 2024).

Confirming that twelve PTI workers lost their lives during the Final Call, Omar Ayub Khan asserted that personnel responsible for throwing a man from 35-feet high platform should be held accountable. He urged the CJP to order a judicial inquiry into the D-Chowk events.

Still harbouring on the topic of workers who died during the Last Call protest, Omar Ayub Khan said: “Twelve individuals have died during the protest. The actual number is higher, but we are sharing only the confirmed figures with the media...The government is attempting to conceal both the bodies and evidence, but these things cannot be hidden more.”

Refusing to accept the figure quoted by Omar Ayub Khan, PM’s Adviser on Political & Public Affairs Rana Sanaullah maintained that the official number of deaths did not reach double figures.

Mehmood Khan Achakzai. Chairman Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), while strongly criticising the government’s violent response to peaceful protests at D-Chowk, called for a judicial investigation and legal action against the Prime Minister, Interior Minister, and IG Police over the reported fatalities.
